SSOA 2025 Survey
The Silver Shekel Board of Directors conducted an opinion survey of our property owners in January, 2025, primarily to gauge opinions about Clean-up Day options. The response was very good with 109 participants out of 195 properties. Click here to see the results.

McCain Property Overflow Parking
The Town of Breckenridge moved the free skier parking/overflow parking area from Airport Road to the McCain property. The initial idea was for a 500-vehicle lot between Hwy 9 and the new McCain Drive, just across the highway from Fairview Blvd.
The revised plan reduced the size to 350 vehicles and it is located further north on the property, but still across from Fairview Blvd. Click here to see the revised plan.

Mailbox Policy
At the SSOA Board of Directors Meeting on January 27, 2023, the Board voted to adopt a Mailbox Policy that formalizes the responsibilities of the Association and Property Owners that utilize the cluster mailboxes on Fairview Blvd. Click here to see the policy.

Fence Policy
At the SSOA Board of Directors Meeting on September 13, 2022, the Board voted to adopt a Fence Policy that recognizes (a) our covenant language, (b) the need for small fenced areas for pets and other purposes, and (c) the desire to maintain the openness Silver Shekel for unimpeded wildlife movement. By-Law Changes
At the Annual Meeting on July 9th, 2024, the Members voted to change the quorum requirements for Member meetings. Click here for the details.

Responsible Governance Policies
In June, Colorado HOA law was changed resulting in the need to change our Responsible Governance Policies. The main changes affecting us have to do with past due accounts, the most significant being a reduction in the maximum interest that could be charged. The new maximum is 8% rather than 21%. Board of Directors Meetings
Meetings of the SSOA Board are held as needed, usually 3-4 times per year. All owners are invited to attend and are given prior notice of the meetings and the agenda topics via email. Meetings are held in person or via ZOOM if necessary.
